-  Filezilla is a very good SecureFTP(SFTP) and FTP client 
    for all platforms (Win/Mac/GNU/Linux)!
    Get it here Don't forget to check 
    "Passive Mode" if you're behind a NAT-routing firewall!

 -  If you're doing heavy css/javascript/ajax or other development - get Firefox 3 and the 
    Firebug add-on
    It's definitely the best web-dev companion we've seen - you can change styles dynamically
    to test out new stuff!
    
 -  The best e-mail client we know is Thunderbird, and it also has a calendar plugin.
    It also works for all OS'es, and works great with vovoid imap mail!
